Addressing a serious lack of design in the marine industry, specifically in the pontoon boat category, the Grand Tourâ concept was designed to be a pioneer in the next generation of pontoon boats with exquisite styling, convenience, and utility. The concept offers a new user experience using advanced materials with pleasing aesthetics to enhance the image of pontoon boats and increase awareness amongst the boating community as well as the general public.
The Grand Tourâ concept won the prestigious Marine Design Research Alliance (MDRA) Grand Prize as well as the first prize under the Pontoon Design category sponsored by Premier Pontoons.
We competed against numerous participants internationally to win this award under marine design and the concept was well received by a number of critics who mentioned us in their blogs and marine websites. The project aimed to showcase how product design can play a vital role in fields such as the marine industry by the application of user experience, harmony, form and ethnographic research.
